Dear Bookish Friend,
This morning I spontaneously decided to share a video about Amazon revoking the ability to download Kindle books you’ve previously purchased. You have until February 26th, if you need more info, check out the video here.
If you plan on always use a Kindle device or the Kindle app, this doesn’t really affect you, but if you are like me and have purchased Kindle books but prefer to read them on a different device (like a Kobo), this is very important!
I know there is people boycotting Kindle as a result, I honestly don’t think that’s the answer, that’s going to hurt our wonderful indie authors more than Amazon. But I think it’s fair to have the right to read an ebook on any device.
Even if you have a Kindle device and don’t plan on switching to Kobo, it may be a good idea to download the books incase you change your mind in the future. Here’s the video link again.
CURRENTLY READING
Proof that I actually use my new (to me) Kindle, I currently have a Kindle Unlimited subscription (to support those wonderful indie authors!) and am slowly making my way through The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion. I say the word slowly because I am trying to take it slow, not because the books aren’t hilarious and I don’t have the desire to binge them, they are and I do. I’m now on volume three and have plans to purchase the physical copies of these books at some point, they are so funny, I know I need to go through physically and annotate them.
YOUTUBE
There have been a couple of videos lately:
the second annual Christian BookTuber Best of Christian Fiction collaboration, it was fun seeing which books all the ladies chose this year, and I had more people collab this time around, I believe there were 19 of us! If you are looking for some good Christian fiction recommendations, check that video out.
my huge pile of possibilities for Middle Grade March and I shared some recent reads as well
and like I’ve already mentioned, I have a video showing you how to download your Kindle books in case you want to read them on something like a Kobo
BOOKISH/HAPPY THINGS
Here’s a few things from this week:
I’m diving back into the world of podcasts (I go in spurts with podcasts) and I’m finally planning on checking out The Literary Life Podcast that so many of you have been telling me about for years
another podcast someone recently told me about is Currently Reading, I haven’t listened to any episodes yet, so if anyone has an episode recommendation to start with, I would love to hear it!
WEEKLY POLL
I am going to share the results of last week’s poll: which classic tome should I read next? in my video on Thursday! Even I don’t know the results yet and am feeling a bit nervous . . . Either way I know it will be a thick classic book! (If you like being able to vote on my next read, stay tuned to my YouTube shorts, for the month of March I’m going to let you guys choose most of my Middle Grade March reads!)
I thought I would make this week’s poll question kind of applicable to this newsletter so the question is: which format do you prefer for reading? I am VERY curious to see the results for this one! Head over here to vote!
If you have been enjoying any specific books or any bookish items lately, I would love to hear it! (You can leave a comment on Substack or hit reply to the email.)

Good article, my only problem was that I have more than 1300 Kindle ebooks. 😅
However, I automated the process with an AI agent:
